For mobile apps
Test your mobile app's listing and website
Mimiq does not install apps or tap through them on a phone. It tests what persuades people to install: your app's website, the store listing copy, the screenshots, the preview video and the install ads, on simulated people who match your audience. Here is what that covers, and what it does not.
Can Mimiq test a mobile app?
Not the installed app: it cannot download it or tap through it on a phone. It tests what gets people to install it: your app's website as a page test, the store listing text as copy, screenshots as images (one is shown as a feed post; two to four are reviewed as the screens of one app), a preview video of up to 3 minutes, and install ads. Simulated people say what they understood and what put them off.
Most installs are won or lost before the app opens
People decide from a few screenshots, a subtitle and a rating, in seconds, often without reading the description. Teams spend months on the app and an afternoon on the listing. The listing, the website and the ads are where you can learn the most before launch, and a simulated audience can react to all of them.
- Store listing copy: the name, the subtitle and the first lines of the description.
- Screenshots: what the set tells people about the app, and where it confuses them.
- Preview video and install ads: who would stop, and when they would scroll away.
- The app's website and any web sign-up, in real browsers.
Store listing copy
Paste the app name, the subtitle and the first lines of the description as a copy test, and describe who the app is for. Simulated readers say whether they understood what the app does and whether they would want to know more, and the objections show which words put them off.
Compare two subtitles on the same simulated readers in the headline tester. A subtitle is a headline, and headlines are where Mimiq's evidence is strongest.
Screenshots and app screens
One image is shown to simulated people as a post in their feed, which suits a single hero screenshot or an install ad: would they stop, glance or scroll past, and why.
Two to four images are reviewed together as the screens of one app. Simulated people look through them and say what they think the app does, which screen made sense, which confused them, and whether they would use it. That fits a screenshot set for a listing, or onboarding screens you are still designing.
Neither mode is the store page itself. Simulated people see your images, not your images next to your rating, your reviews and your competitors in search results.
Preview video and install ads
A video test takes a clip of up to 3 minutes. Your browser takes frames from it, and the file never leaves your device. Each simulated person says when they would have scrolled away and what they were thinking then, which is the question that matters for a preview that plays on its own.
Install ads work like any ad test: who would click, stop, glance or scroll past, and why.
The website and web sign-up
Your app's website is a page like any other: a page test shows it to 25 simulated visitors and ranks their objections. If people can sign up on the web before they install, a flow lets simulated people try it in real browsers, with inboxes of their own for confirmation links.
What Mimiq does not do for apps
It does not install your app, tap through it on a phone or a tablet, or run it in a simulator. It does not test push notifications, in-app purchases, crashes or performance, and it does not predict store search ranking, install rates or reviews.
For the app itself, you need real people using it: a beta through the platforms' own test programs, such as TestFlight on iOS or a testing track on Google Play, and usability sessions with your audience. Use Mimiq for the parts people see before they install.

Questions
Can Mimiq test my iOS or Android app?
Not the installed app. It tests the website, the store listing copy, the screenshots, the preview video and the install ads, which is what people see before they install.
Can it test my App Store or Google Play page directly?
It tests the parts: the listing text as copy and the screenshots as images. Simulated people do not see them in the store's own layout, next to your rating and your competitors.
How many screenshots can I test at once?
Up to four in one test. Two to four are reviewed together as the screens of one app; a single image is shown as a feed post.
Can it predict installs or ratings?
No. It shows what simulated people understood and what put them off. Install rates and ratings come from the stores after launch.
What does it cost?
