Kajabi sales funnel: which page loses buyers

Your funnel is a chain of pages, and your numbers only say people left somewhere in it. Mimiq walks simulated visitors through the pages in order and shows the page and the button where each one left.

Where do buyers drop off in my Kajabi sales funnel?

The drop-off is usually at one handover between two pages, not across the whole funnel. A button can open a page that is not the next step, a page can ask for an email the previous page already took, or the offer on the sales page can differ from the one at checkout. Page counts show that people left a page, not why. A simulated test walks the same pages in order and reports the page and the button where each visitor left.

What this looks like in a report

Who
Lorenzo, a personal trainer who saw an ad for a free mobility guide
How they arrived
Clicked a paid social ad and landed on the opt-in page
Where they stopped
Checkout, after the sales page showed a paid program

“The opt-in page promised a free guide. The sales page offered a paid program. At checkout the guide is gone, and it asks for my email again, so I am not sure I signed up for anything.”

The fix. Carry the email from the opt-in page into the checkout, and keep the same offer name and price on the sales page and at checkout. Then walk the three pages in order in a private window and confirm the checkout shows the offer the visitor chose.

Each page hands the visitor a promise the next page must keep

A funnel is a chain: an opt-in page, a sales page, a checkout and then any offers after the purchase. Each handover carries something forward, such as the email the visitor typed, the name of the offer, or the price. The visitor only sees the page in front of them, so they judge each one by what the last page said. A free guide on the opt-in page that turns into a paid program at checkout, with no sign the guide is still included, looks like a trap. Visitors leave there without any error to report.

  • Click the main button on each page in order. Does it open the page the funnel says comes next?
  • Enter your email on the first page. Does the checkout ask for it again?
  • Compare the offer name and price on the sales page with the checkout. Do they match?
  • Find any button that opens a page outside the funnel. Where does the visitor end up?
  • Repeat the walk on a phone. Does the same button lead to the same page?

The funnel is a chain, and each link can break

A sales funnel is built as a sequence, but a visitor does not see the sequence. They see one page, one main button and one decision. The opt-in page collects an email in exchange for something. The sales page explains the offer and its price. The checkout takes payment, and the pages after it, if you have them, add an offer or confirm the order. The buyer carries a few things across these pages without noticing, the email, the offer they chose and the price they agreed to. A handover breaks when one of those things changes or goes missing, and the page after it has no way to say so.

Three handovers that lose people, and what each looks like

A button can open the wrong page. It may point at an older version of the sales page, a draft, or a page that exists only in the editor, so the visitor lands on a page they did not expect. An offer can change between two pages. The sales page says one name and one price, and the checkout shows a plan with a different name, or the price with a setting the visitor did not pick. An email can be asked for twice. The checkout asks for the email again, even though the visitor typed it two pages back, and the visitor is not sure the funnel remembers them.

Where the funnel test stops

The walk ends at the payment step, because a visitor cannot pay with a real card. That is the last point the test can reach. The upsell page, the thank you page and the receipt email all come after it, and each can break in its own way: an upsell that offers a product the buyer did not pick, or a receipt that names the wrong offer. Check them by hand, using whatever test purchase your payment setup gives you, and check the address the receipt goes to.

The walk gives you the exact handover where a visitor left, and what the page showed them at that point. Put that page next to the one before it, and the mismatch is usually in the offer name or the price. It does not give the rate at which visitors leave, so use your analytics for that, and a live experiment to compare two versions of a page.

What you get with Mimiq

  1. 01

Run it by hand, or on every pull request

Paste a link and a task in the app and watch the visitors work. Or run them on every preview deploy: the GitHub Action comments on the pull request, any other CI can call the MCP endpoint, and your coding agent can run it too.

  2. 02

Bugs and usability problems in one report

The browser records errors and failed or slow requests on the step they happened. The visitors say where the wording or the steps confused them, and where they left.

  3. 03

Visitors that behave like your audience

Each visitor is a different profile with a reason to be there, matched to who the page is for, described by you, or built from your own customers.

  4. 04

A prompt to fix each problem

Every problem comes with a fix to paste into Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable or any coding agent, and one prompt hands over the top problems at once. Then send the same visitors through again.

  5. 05

    Follow every visitor

See each visitor's whole path, step by step with screenshots, and what it was thinking at every step. Ask any visitor a question.

The browser records relevant JavaScript errors and failed or slow app requests encountered during the run, attached to the step where they occurred. The visitors are simulated: they find problems, they do not predict how many real people will convert.

A new upsell page can change the offer the buyer paid for

Every new page, button or offer you add to the funnel becomes a new handover, and each one can drop the visitor's email or change the price they saw. Run the same visitors through the funnel after each change. Send visitors from every source you buy, since an ad, an email and a search can land on different pages. If the funnel sits behind a member login, give the visitors a test account to sign in with.

Questions

Why do people reach checkout and then leave my Kajabi funnel?

Usually the checkout shows something the sales page did not: a different price, an extra field, a different product name, or a second email request. Compare the sales page and the checkout side by side, in a private window. If the offer name or price changes between them, the visitor leaves thinking they were tricked. If the checkout only asks for something new, the page needs to say why.

Can a simulated visitor show me the conversion rate for each page?

No. The test shows where a simulated visitor left the funnel and what the page showed them. It does not predict how many real visitors would move to the next page or buy. Use your analytics for page to page rates, and a live experiment to compare two versions of a page.

Does the test go past the payment step to the upsell page?

No. A visitor cannot pay with a real card, so the test ends at the payment step. The upsell, the thank you page and the receipt email come after that, so check them by hand with whatever test purchase your payment setup offers.

Can I test a funnel that is still a draft?

Only if the pages have a public address. The test visits the live or staging address, so a page that is still a draft shows as missing or unpublished, which is a finding in itself. Publish the funnel to a preview address first if you want the test to walk the whole path.

Will the test create an account for the buyer?

If the funnel asks the visitor to create an account, the simulated visitor can do it with an address that has a working inbox. It cannot sign in with Google or single sign on. The report says which step an account request stopped at.
